The SciFi Channel — what the hell is going on there?
This has got to be the stupidest damn non-conservative-commentator thing I have heard in at least fifteen hundred years, perhaps longer. I just read that the SciFi channel will soon cease to exist as we know it. Not in terms of programming, mind you — we’ll still get our nature-runs-amok-via-lame-ass-CGI movie of the week. No, instead, SciFi the network will disappear and in its place will be… SyFy, the network. Yes, SyFy. Brilliant. No doubt, it took a deep thinker to come up with that one.
SyFy. Uh-huh. DOUBLEYOUTEAEFF?
After Battlestar Galactica airs its series finale (this week), there is no reason to watch this channel. Unless you like professional wrestling. ‘Cause pro rasslin’ that’s some real sci-fi right there, buddy! (For those out of the know, SciFi/SyFy currently airs — on purpose — a professional wrestling program, in addition to a bunch of other weak crap that is not remotely related to science fiction. Or high quality.)

When I first saw SyFy, my mind reads it as “Siffy” – I sure hope they change their minds on this one!
I actually enjoy the nature runs amok movies. True that they’re mostly all the same, and the acting can be … well … obvious? But occasionally there’s a rare gem in the mold of the 50s monster movies. To some of us, it’s worth the digging!
I admit to suspecting that there are X-Rated versions of some of these…there’s just something about busty blondes, in tight short-shorts or bikinis, running squealing through the woods with their also large-busted brunette buddies that makes me believe this could be so.
Besides, I’m a fan of The Ghost Hunters, too.
I think the SYFI channel sucks all the blood and guts stuff sucks. I like to be enertained not grossed out. I like the classic syfi. They need to change a lot more than there name.
Yeah, SyFy — or whatever — is pretty weak, especially now, with Battlestar Galactica gone.
I think it’s time we all stop complaining about sci-fi channel and instead we should work on getting some network to start a real SCIENCE FICTION channel that would produce the type of shows we all want and no more Snake movie of the week crap. I say we shut em down. They don’t answer mail and could care less about what the viewer wants. Say Bye, Bye to Universal, NBC and SYFY. Time to start writing to the sponsors. They hold the real power over this bunch of overpaid morons.
