A lazy Sunday afternoon. I’m trying to get motivated to finish some stuff it seems like I’ve been working on forever. It’s my own fault that some of this has taken so long, but it feels like I’ve finally turned the corner and am making real, right progress again. The only good thing is, friend-of-ours Steven is in Montreal and he’s got some notes for me on another project we’ve been working on, so while he’s gone I should be able to wrap up a few other loose ends before diving back into that head-first in a few days.
It’s been an inspirational summer for me, in ways I haven’t felt in some time. I go through periods — some longer than others — where every idea I come up with, every word I write, feels like worthless hackwork. But lately I’ve seen so many films (Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Hellboy II, even parts of Hancock) that have reminded me of the magic that can be put on the screen these days, and it’s really scratched my creative itch and set me back in motion. With even more greatness to come in the next few weeks like The Dark Knight, the second X-Files movie, Pineapple Express, maybe even the latest Mummy movie (which I can’t believe I just included as being possibly good), it’s looking like a great year for movies.
Then there’s Outlander. I don’t know when this movie comes out, but I’ll tell you right now, I can’t wait to see it. The basic description is: Vikings versus Aliens. It’s set in the 700’s A.D, and the trailer features horses, swords, Vikings, dragons (or what are described as dragons, anyway), and spaceships. Who says there are no more good ideas?

I want to try some things to shake up this blog a l ittle bit. I’ve changed the blog template yet again. Don’t worry, I’ll be changing that header pic before long. Also, I’m going to try out video inclusion. As a test, here’s a panoramic view of my home office, or as I like to call it, the Command Center:
About the outlander movie. Don’t know if you were being sarcastic with the whole “can’t wait to see it” thing but except for the stupid laser sound effects, it didn’t seem that bad.
I really do want to see it. It looks interesting so far.
